As a genre that relies so heavily on nostalgia, Dungeon Synth as a genre has some hard limits. However, when done right, it can really just draw you in. Forest Shrine just does everything right here. The music does a great job at visualizing a winter landscape in all of its stark beauty and I suspect enjoying this in the snow will make it even better. 3.5/5

This was my introduction into dungeon synth/black ambient. I remember first blasting this song on my way to playing Volleyball with a couple of mates and being intrigued by this type of sound. After digging further into dungeon synth this is still one of my favorites!

Atmospheric brilliance. The interplay of black metal elements with the caverns of dungeon synth sound is wonderful.

Forest Shrine almost seems to have an album for each season. II seems more like a summer album. Warmth encapsulates this album in its glow and in some ways reminds me of an old renaissance fair I went to as a kid. 3.5/5
